Taiwan is planning to build a sex park ... in a salt pit

A scenic wedding location, a 'dating paradise,' a number of more lurid sexual exhibitions and salt. Lots of salt. Like tons of it. That's the plan for a 'Sex Theme Park' proposed for construction in Taiwan.

Interested investors are looking to build an erotic theme park in southwestern Taiwan, titled the "Garden of Eden." Think of it as Disney World for people who are really, deeply interested in exhibitions about sexual position, sex toys and "unusual sex lives."

And the chosen location for this sensual paradise? Salt flats. "The white powdery salt hill and salt farm have always emitted a romantic feeling," park director Cheng Rong-fong told CNN. Salt flats can be romantic, sure. But we're not just talking about flats: the sex park tour begins at an epic six-story-high salt tower. Turned on yet?

In addition to the copious amounts of salt, the park will include exhibitions that cover the "four-stage journey of love." Cheng is certain that "the Dating Paradise is perfect for those [who] aren't officially a couple yet." Because nothing says 'putting a date at ease' like bringing her to a sex park in the middle of some salt fields.

Whether the "Garden of Eden" will actually come to fruition remains to be seen: there has been a good amount of puritanical push-back against the idea, especially considering that Cheng and Co. need to get approval from local government agencies before they can proceed with construction.

Cheng originally set up a website for the park, but it was soon taken down - some said that the site had been hacked, while others think Cheng may just be realizing that the world wasn't (yet) ready for his salty sexcapades.
