A woman in Dalian jumped to her death after arguing with her boyfriend about watching the World Cup, reports the SCMP.
The 22-year-old woman leaped from the nine-storey building at around 3.30am on Tuesday after arguing with her boyfriend, who had just come home from watching a game.
They had quarreled earlier that evening about him wanting to go out. When he left the apartment, she grew more upset when she was unable to reach him by phone despite repeated calls.

On the same day in Chongqing, a woman who stayed up late watching the World Cup games four nights in a row suffered a miscarriage while celebrating a goal for Germany.
The 26-year-old, an avid Germany supporter for more than 10 years, had watched the Germany vs Portugal game anxiously while eating soda and crisps.
She screamed “hat trick!” and jumped up and down on the couch when Thomas Mueller scored in the 79th minute, leading to the German side’s 4-0 thrashing of Portugal.
But then she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen and saw blood dripping down her legs. She was rushed to hospital at around 2am where it was pronounced a miscarriage.
Over in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, a man slipped into a coma after staying up too late for the games. Doctors said the 45-year-old, rushed to hospital at 4pm on Monday, had suffered severe brain haemorrhage after the all-nighters.
The man reportedly fell unconscious and foamed at the mouth during a driving lesson. After seven hours of surgery, the man survived but a long rehabilitation awaits him.
All this follows our report early in the week that deaths in Shanghai and Dalian and a car crash in Wenzhou after the a tired driver fell asleep at the wheel had left eight Chinese football fans dead.
