SGA Grade 5 Students Showcase Passion and Purpose at PYP Exhibition
From May 27 to 29, Shenzhen Foreign Languages GBA Academy (SGA) celebrated a key milestone for its Grade 5 students with the presentation of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition. Through well-designed stations and engaging presentations, students showcased what they have learned, what they value, and who they aspire to become.
Over the course of ten weeks, Grade 5 students explored personal interests through the transdisciplinary theme ‘How We Express Ourselves’. Their inquiries focused on a wide range of topics, including technology, nature, animal protection, music, history, and sports. Each project reflected a connection between individual passion and larger global issues, with students considering how they might take meaningful action to create positive change.
The exhibition journey was both rigorous and rewarding. Students navigated challenges such as time management, conducting surveys and interviews, and building confidence in public speaking. These experiences required them to step outside their comfort zones, acquire new skills, and grow as independent learners and effective communicators.
The PYP Exhibition not only highlighted students’ dedication and creativity, but also marked a successful transition point as they prepare to enter the Middle Years Programme. The experience has helped equip them to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and compassionate global citizens.
