Five Stars Out of the East
In an exquisite fusion of ancient history and contemporary art, the dance drama, Five Stars Rising from the East, brings to life the story of a 2,000-year-old Han-dynasty brocade, while weaving together past and present scenes.
Xu Rui, the President of Beijing Dance Academy, was inspired to write the play by a famous archaeological find in 1995. An expedition to the Niya Ruins unearthed a piece of Han-dynasty brocade that was inscribed "Five Stars Rising from the East Benefits China."
This impeccably costumes and choreographed show will entertain even if you can’t follow the plot!
