On July 7, the #metoo movement inadvertently gained the support of a septuagenarian (a person who is 70 to 79 years old) in Hefei, Anhui province.

An elderly man, surnamed Hong, was coming out of a vegetable market, when a large woman with a selfie stick ran up to him, grabbed his head and tried to kiss him, according to Global Times

In various videos posted on Weibo, Hong appeared so scared that he dropped his vegetables on the ground. The elderly man eventually broke free of the woman and made it home.

According to Mop.com, when Hong got home he found the clip of the forced kiss was going viral on the internet, which prompted him to file a report with the local police.

The strangest part of all, multiple sources claimed that she was doing this in attempt to gain clicks and hits on her webcast.

The reaction of Weibo netizens was not nice, to say the least. One Weibo user posted, “It’s good she was detained, otherwise she’d be a danger to society. In addition, the supervision on these vlogging platforms is not up to par, such a host should be banned.” Another user raised a serious question, “Is this moral degeneration or twist of humanity?” Several netizens also pointed out that she should be charged with molestation, even if the victim was an old man.

After receiving Hong’s report, the Lujiang County Public Security Bureau has placed the woman in administrative detention for eight days for disorderly conduct.
