Three people are dead after an explosion occurred at a residential building in Suzhou, Jiangsu, at 7.22am on the morning of Friday, December 21.

The explosion was caught on camera by a car owner, who was driving on the street next to the building when a massive flame suddenly erupted from the complex and spilled onto the street.

The upper half of the building was quickly engulfed by large plumes of smoke, as fire burst out of the windows. Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after the explosion and managed to put out the conflagration. Three bodies were found following the incident, and no one was injured.

According to 163.com, the building in which the explosion broke out was Jinsheng Garden, located the city’s Wujiang District. The local public security bureau has published a preliminary conclusion on Weibo, saying that the blast was caused by a natural gas leakage, adding that further investigation into the explosion is being carried out.

Another major explosion took place in Zhangjiakou in Hebei Province on November 28, when a tanker carrying hazardous chemicals exploded, leaving 22 dead and 22 injured, while also forcing residents to evacuate a nearby village.
