Drunken Fight Among Expats at a Shenzhen McDonald's Goes Viral

Footage of a fight among foreigners in China posted by Reddit user agrengs recently made waves, though not for the reasons you might think.

That's partly due to the setting – a McDonald's in Shenzhen – and also because all four participants were apparently intoxicated. Amused netizens took shots at the slapstick silliness of the bout, from which the combatants emerged mostly unscathed.

In case you missed it, here are a few highlights from the 2-minute clip.

1. Hugs and punches

As tension escalates between a 50-something in a navy shirt and a younger man, the friends of both can be seen embracing in the background.

2. Order-screen faceplant

At one point, the man wearing a salmon shirt loses his balance while throwing (unsuccessful) punches, hitting the automated ordering screen face-first.

3. The impassive bystander

A man can be seen calmly eating throughout the entire video, even as the fight approaches his table.

4. "I have chicken!"

As the man in white attempts to separate the combatants, he calmly repeats the phrase "I have chicken." For some reason, this works and he eventually defuses the situation.

5. "We're drunk right now."

The white-shirted man goes on to assure the middle-aged man in navy that "we don't want this sh*t," presumably referring to the embarrassment of being caught on camera dueling at McDonald's. He also adds, sagely, that "we're drunk right now." No kidding.
