Obstacles just kept befalling the Victoria's Secret Show this week in Shanghai. First, four models were denied Chinese visas, then Gigi Hadid dropped out and later Katy Perry got banned from performing in China.
This bad luck streak continued on Monday night, when ten minutes before midnight, the official after party abruptly got shut down by the police.
According to WWD, after wrapping up the big fashion show — the first ever to be held in China — Victoria's Secret threw a party to celebrate. World famous supermodels like Lais Ribeiro, Bella Hadid, Taylor Hill and Grace Bol were all present.
But the party was apparently short lived. Not long after DJ Victor Aime started performing, the dancing, partying and music were all cut short when a series of uniformed police officers arrived at the venue.
“They want us to finish," said a woman over the microphone as she led the crowd out of the party. "We are sorry, we tried."
Other unfortunate events that occurred that night included model Ming Xi tripping on the runway after getting tangled up in her sleeves. (Luckily, she was helped up a few seconds later by Brazilian model Gizele Oliveira).
A long, time-consuming check-in process also forced guests to line up outside in freezing single-digit temperatures for over half an hour before entering the show's venue.
But the show still went on regardless. To check out pictures from Monday night's big event, click here.
