Over 100,000 vacationers stood outside the Guangzhou Train Station in Yuexiu District this past Monday after their trains were delayed, according to reports from police at the scene. Bad weather in the north of the country was primarily to blame for the delays, which forced some travelers to stand by and wait for hours on end.

Crowds didn’t begin to dissolve until around 3am on Tuesday morning.

If you’re heading somewhere on the mainland this Chinese New Year, keep in mind that trains may be delayed – and there are definitely no free seats in the waiting area.
