WIN: tickets to Beijing's first ever US pro wrestling show!

Despite being big business in other parts of Asia – most notably Japan – American-style professional wrestling has so far failed to catch on in the People’s Republic, where interest in the sport remains a stubbornly niche pursuit.

But that may soon be about to change, thanks to the heroic efforts of US indie wrestling outfit the WWN – who are preparing to make history this Sunday, when they go all out in Beijing’s first ever pro wrestling show, to be held in the Wukesong MasterCard arena.

We caught up the group earlier this week in Hebei – the first stop on their brief 4-stop China tour – and while we don’t want to reveal too much (look out for a forthcoming That’s Beijing feature), we can confidently say that these guys put on one hell of a good show.

Former WWE wrestlers Trent Baretta and Johnny Gargano head a list of 20 entertaining wrestling names, including the brilliantly named Mr. Shuai Ge (also known outside of China as Earl Cooter, ‘the Southern Stud’), Caleb Konley, former Japanese fan favorite Rich Swann and high-fliers such as the colony of Fire Ant and Silver Ant.

Can the WWN spread the spandex-clad, muscle-bound gospel of grapple – and convert Chinese audiences into sign-waiving, expletive-spewing hardcore wrestling fans? Time will tell, in the meantime… Wooooo-yeah!

***WIN!***

We have four tickets to give away, as well as a handful of limited edition tour t-shirts. To enter, answer the simple question:

Name the one time Indian policeman, turned WWE champion?

Deadline: midnight Friday November, 14.

> Tickets start from RMB100, available at Damai.cn
