Raise your (tasting) glass at the first Beijing Invitational Craft Beer Festival

If you thought the advent of winter marked the end of Beijing’s welcome surge in craft beer festivals, then it’s time to rejoice. This month, the good folk over at Great Leap Brewing are putting on an indoor festival with a difference.

Unlike the familiar summer offerings, The Beijing Invitational Craft Beer Festival is a ticketed event with nine sessions available over three days. Buy a time slot of 2, 2.5, or 3 hours (for RMB250, RMB300 and RMB400 respectively) and, once inside, it’s all-you-can-drink. (Scroll down for full schedule.)

But this is no free-for-all booze session, dear beer connoisseurs. The unlimited availability should be seen as the best way to try as many tipples as possible from the 20 breweries in attendance, so we suggest you choose your time slot accordingly.

In addition to the Chinese producers you should now be familiar with, there will be a host of international beer maestros serving drinks from across the world, including Victory Brewing Company (USA), Baird Brewing Company (Japan), Hong Kong Beer Co. (Hong Kong, obvs), Young Master Ales (Hong Kong), Thornbridge Brewery (UK), Windsor & Eton Brewery (UK), Hilden Brewing Co. (Ireland) and 8 Wired Brewing Co. (New Zealand).

Places to each session are limited, so to guarantee your place we suggest purchasing in advance on Yoopay, through 锦食送 delivery service (4000 300 517) or in person at either of the Great Leap locations.

// Nov 14-16, time slots vary; RMB250-400; EAST Beijing Hotel, 22 Jiuxianqiao Road, Chaoyang 朝阳区酒仙桥路22号

Correction: In an earlier version of this blog we said that the beers will be served in plastic glasses. We are pleased to inform you that attendees will, in fact, drink from a commemorative 150ml tasting glass.
