Sound of the Xity Description

This is an outrageously interesting show. This is a melting down of Chinese old and new representative of post-punk music and also a rare chance of seeing Mongolian throat singing and British guitar riff being well played during the same night. Most important, one of them has been selected to go to EXIT Festival, one of the biggest festival in Europe this summer!

Re-TROS

Rebuilding The Rights Of Statues was founded in March 2003. They are deeply influenced by the 1970s post-punk bands such as Bauhaus, Joy Division, and Gang of Four and be-came the most representative band of domestic rock music. In 2009, after they released the reputable album < Watch out! Climate Has Changed, Fat Mum Rises…> ,Re-Tros has become one of the most noticeable live bands. Their classic post-punk feel and the strong impact of their live performances have conquered a large number of fans. Currently Re-building The Rights of Statues are advancing in new musical directions, trying hard to give their fans a new and different experience.

Zulu

Established in 2007, Zulu is composed of four members from Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, West-ern China. The band performs both original material and classic folk songs from Xinjiang, Mongo-lia, and Tuva. China’s first album of khoomei throat singing was recorded and released by Zulu.

Zulu’s music combines all sorts of musical styles, adding modern influences to a foundation of Mongolian and Tuvan traditional music. Zulu also integrates elements of flamenco, rock, psyche-delia, Buddhist, and African music into their songs, combining folk with contemporary music to cre-ate something never heard before.

The Big Wave

The Big Wave spreads out in the dark, their strong rhythms in flowery soundscape, like bright lights, superimposition and interference between black water waves. They are restoring ancient ways to play music, in order to have more hand experimental instruments; sounding more playful and neurotic. Because behind all the sound machines, each emotion and personality of the band members are part of the band flesh, so they will resonate in their music, and quickly conquer each party animal present at their concerts.

In 2015, The Big Wave was named "Best new artist of the year at the 6th China rock MIDI Festival". In July of the same year, they were invited to the world famous gigantic music festival "EXIT".

Elenore

Based in Beijing, China, Elenore is a brit-pop/indie rock band, which was formed by lead singer/guitarist Wang Yu in late 2009. Additionally with bassist Long Fei and drummer Hu Pan, Elenore developed its own sound, influenced by bands such as Oasis, Kasabian, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, etc. Their single “Psycho Man” fuses the 60’s swing drum loop, fuzzy guitar riff and a scene of the middle east instrument chorus which became a hit on China’s popular youth culture site Douban. The single was also covered by a famous Brit-pop band Exile Parade which aroused people’s attention. In May 2012, the band re-leased their first EP “The Missing Queen” both on CD and the band’s own digital distribu-tion site. The music video of the single “Hatano’s Dance” was the Top 10 video of Chinese portal site Sohu which earned over 260,000 views.
