Fri, Jul 26: Cult Rap King

Spectacles of Sounds is proud to announce what is set to be one of the biggest nights of hip-hop and trap to hit Shenzhen this year, with three much-buzzed American artists landing at Oil Club for the final leg of their China tour. The evening features visionaries of cult rap Deniro Farrar, his protege Trent the Hooligan along with Brooklyn thirst trap queen DonMonique. Be sure to get there early.

Sat, Jul 27: Bionic Monthly Charity Tap

This month’s Bionic Charity Tap will go towards supporting the local community to help raise funds for a rescued dog, Robin. For the month of July, RMB5 of every Bionic Mango Sour pint purchased will go to help Robin with his recovery and surgery. Saturday will be fundraising day, where Bionic will double the donation by giving a RMB10 per Mango Sour pint purchased. Karuna Rescue, who originally rescued Robin, will also bring cats and dogs that need a new home. Hope to see you there on the fundraising day!

Your boss asked you to take over an important customer presentation but you don't know all the products. What do you do? Improvise! Until Aug 4: Design Society: Values of Design

July will be the last full month of Design Society’s inaugural site-specific exhibition, Values of Design. This exhibition presents a broad exploration of designs across time and space, boasting pieces drawn from the V&A’s major collections of fashion, photography, furniture, graphic design, theater and performance. The exhibition features over 250 objects from 900 CE to the present, which originate from 31 different countries, to frame a global debate about how design is valued and how values shape design.

Bring your curious little ones to National Geographic’s Amazing Animals exhibit at MixC World! The exhibit is geared towards your children aged 3 to 12 years old. Learn all about the wonderful creatures and animals through dozens of themed, interactive and bilingual exhibits ranging from cats and camels to porcupines and penguins.

Until Sept 30: Y-COMIC-X?

Curated by Design Society, Y-Comic-X? showcases the story of China through the evolution of Chinese comics, displaying more than 400 local works from 85 comic artists and including 73 original drawings in chronological order. This exhibition is composed of six chapters: Early Comics and Comic Strips, The Golden Age of Comic Strips, External Influences on Chinese Comics, Globalization and Digitization of Chinese Comics, Independent Spirit and Comics in the Multimedia Age. It presents the evolution of Chinese comics as a unique form of narration.

Until Oct 13: Paestum: A City of the Ancient Mediterreanean

Located in the southeast of Naples, Italy, Paestum occupies an important position in the history of Western culture. It is a combination of three civilizations: Ancient Greece, Lucania and Rome, which provides Western scholars with an opportunity to uncover the historical origins of Western architecture. This exhibition features 134 exquisite artifacts from the Paestum Archaeological Park in Italy, including murals, statues, architectural components, painted pottery, bronze vessels and more. With traditional displays, real-life models, 3D projection and other audio-visual presentations, a panoramic image of ancient Paestum is painted, so that the audience can be immersed and feel the civilization of Ancient Greece.
