Until Nov 25: The Future of Interaction

Inviting a group of young artists, whose works take in a range of differing styles, such as oil painting, copper sculpture and cloth-based acrylic painting, this exhibition seeks to point out how these particular creative folk communicate or ‘interact’ within the modern age.

Wed, Nov 7: The World Alive

Hard-rocking American band The World Alive bring their metalcore to Shenzhen this week. Having begun life as a band 10 years ago, The World Alive are now on to what is their fifth album and bring the beast, Violent Noise, out on tour with them this month, hitting up four major cities around the country.

Sat, Nov 9: Diwali Milan Party

As we approach mid-autumn in Shenzhen, one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali or the 'festival of lights,' is just around the corner. In celebration of this grand tradition, the F.R.I.E.N.D.S Group is presenting the Diwali Milan Party, which features non-stop music, delicious food, free flow drinks, stage performances and an unbearably fun night of partying.

Fri-Sun, Nov 9-11: Electric City Festival

This weekend from Friday to Sunday, Bionic Brew will be presenting the Fourth Shenzhen Craft Beer Festival, also known as the Electric City Festival, at HALO Square. The annual invitational event is for breweries from around China, focusing on Chinese-made craft beer, local restaurants and building a craft community in southern China. All will be welcome: craft beer enthusiasts, foodies, families, those committed to quality and curiosity and even dogs (well behaved ones, at least!)

Fri, Nov 9: The 1900 Film Piano Concert

Italian piano legend Gilda Buttà is the musician behind the soundtracks from a number of award-winning films, including The Legend of 1900, Cinema Paradiso, Love Story and The Godfather, and, as the list suggests, she will not only play songs from The Legend of 1900, but also tracks she played for other classic films. Enjoy an epic night as you relive the great moments in those films through her music!

Sat, Nov 10: 4H Trendy Music Festival

Winner of Rap of China, GAI, arrives in Shenzhen to partake in the aptly titled Trendy Music Festival. Bringing together a bunch of hip hop artists from around the country, this festival will shed a light on the prevailing trends and talents that populate that particular music scene today.

Sat, Nov 10: Elrow X Fever: Elrow Sambodromo do Brasil
Originating in Spain, Elrow features world-famous and immersive themed parties with DJs, pulsating rhythms, wild animals, lost explorers and fun-loving jungle dwellers. This Saturday, Elrow Shenzhen will bring the extraordinary “Sambodromo do Brasil” theme to the city, creating experiences full of spectacle, music, color and happiness.

Sun, Nov 11: Sense and Sensibility

Revisit the Jane Austen classic this November as Chapterhouse Theatre Company make their way to Shenzhen Children’s Palace. This story follows the three Dashwood sisters as they come of age. Follow the three girls as they experience love, romance and heartbreak for the first time.

Daily Until Nov 25: Forces of Nature: Ancient Maya Arts

Though the Mayan civilization is long gone, it has left countless mysteries for today’s world. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is well-known for its amazing collection of relics documenting the Mayan civilization. Now, thanks to its cooperation with Shenzhen Museum, you can catch a glimpse of the Mayan culture, which once flourished in Central America.
