Bored of the same old beach holidays and city getaways? Looking for something a bit more out-of-the-box? Perhaps you need to get yourself a guidebook for...North Korea?! Prepare yourself for the experience of a lifetime with the Travelers Society's six day, catered-for excursion to one of the most secluded societies on earth. The tour is still available to book now for travel at the end of May.

This package willl allow you to see the world renowned (yet largely unseen) streets of Pyongyang, view the towering Masuade monument of Kim Jong il Sung and Kim Jong il and test out your tastebuds on the local delicacies. The entire trip is by train and bus so you get as authentic an experience as possible in the North Korean countryside.

The trip kicks off from the meeting place in Dandong (China's border city with North Korea) where all guests will stay a night before boarding a train to cross the Chinese/Korean Friendship Bridge before setting off for Pyongyang. From there, you can expect the itenary to be packed with historical moments such as a visit to the Koryo history museum and catching a glimpse of the Victorious War monument.

On day four you can expect to see the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - the heaviest militarized zone in the world and the iconic demarcation line between North and South Korea. You will even have a North Korean army soldier there with you to explain the rich history of the area! This is all before catching a ride on the Pyongyang metro, adorned with propaganda posters and gold statues of the North Korean leaders.
