Shanghai’s favorite international global entertainment company, Lounge by Topgolf, just launched a new lunch menu, welcoming in the business crowd for that much needed midday break.
More than just your average pub grub, the menu at Topgolf provides an elevated alternative with an Asian twist; thoughtful fusion that ties in local flavors, making a meal more interesting than your standard burger and fries.
Available Monday through Friday from 11.30am-2.30pm (excluding holidays), the lunch sets are an absolute snip from just RMB68.
Better still, all lunch mains come with a side salad and one selected drink – like coffee, iced or hot tea, or soda – with the option to add on a cappuccino, latte, or mocha for an additional RMB8, and a daily dessert for RMB28.
For lunch, there are 17 options to choose from, enough to last you the whole season and never get bored.
From a hefty portion of sweet Cantonese style Honey BBQ Pork with rice and Shanghai style wok-fried bamboo shoots, to fluffy and cheesy Japanese style Scrambled Egg with rice and a deep-fried crispy pork chop (similar to a Shanghainese zhupai) the regional flavors come through, happily enjoyed alongside a round of mini golf if you so choose.
For an additional RMB18, upgrade your lunch with the Taiwanese niurou mian-inspired Grandma's Braised Beef Soup Noodles – a 24-hour slowly braised Wagyu beef tenderloin soup with Japanese ramen noodles, daikon radish and green veggies.
It’s the exact spoonful of comfort you need to get you through Shanghai’s last chilly days of the season.
As for Western offerings, the Pulled Pork Baguette Sandwich with french fries is a surefire win – a zippy balance of tangy homemade BBQ sauce and sweet, glazed pork, finished with a kick of spice and cooling crunch from home-marinated pickled slaw and raw onions.
There’s also the Wagyu Cheeseburger with fries as well as two kinds of Pizza.
The Roasted Salmon will set you back an additional RMB58 beyond the regular lunch set price, but for that diners can indulge in a thick slab of tender salmon with an even, crispy char, served atop a mushroom fava bean risoni pasta, seasonal shoots and a sweet bean salsa – definitely a bang for the added buck.
Outside of the lunch sets, the regular a la carte menu is still available at all hours, so diners can add on to their order when that extra twinge of hunger hits, with everything from chicken wings of all flavors to imported fresh Burrata – drizzled in a Taiwanese plum sugar reduction in place of balsamic.
The lunch set menu launches tomorrow, Monday, February 20 – so make sure to swing through for a hole-in-one lunch.
