It's a 4th of July Barbecue Throw Down!
Matty Waters of The Smokehouse Shanghai is going up against Zach Cagle of Zax BBQ in Zhengzhou, Henan. Two Pit Masters duking it out and bringing you some of the best BBQ south of the Wall - the Great Wall that is!
It is going down at El Santo to the sound of a Live Band and a Guest DJ, with Blue Demon Lager, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Corona, Frozen Margaritas, House Red and White Wine, all starting at just RMB25.
Yup, that's a whole lotta good times, and all for just RMB58, which includes a welcome drink. And get this, the first 100 people to arrive get a extra Pabst Blue Ribbon beer in addition to the welcome drink.

Matty Waters represents the one style of cooking every culture around the world has: barbecue. He has won numerous prestigious barbecue awards around Shanghai and heads up the kitchen at newly opened The Smokehouse. Waters' aim is to make delicious barbecue with a strong focus on the famous style of Kansas City BBQ. Kansas City is in the Heart of America and is Water’s hometown, one of the largest cities in the most central part of the US, that finds its famed barbecue influenced by its surroundings. One thing that sets Water’s apart from the rest: there are no limits and there are no rules.

Zach Cagle
ZAX BBQ Located in Zhengzhou, Henan was opened in 2013 by Teresa Liu and Zach Cagle, and was a 2018 and 2020 Dianping Must-Eat Restaurant in Henan. For almost eight years now, they have been lucky enough to bring the Southern tradition of low-and-slow cooked competition caliber BBQ to Central China. Every year since 2017, they’ve been honored to provide BBQ for hundreds of guests at the Wuhan US Consulate’s July 4th celebration. This year, however, they'll be heading to Shanghai to take on Matty in an awesome BBQ experience!
