There’s no doubt about it, traveling with DiDi is simple and convenient. But it wasn’t always this way for its English-speaking customers. DiDi’s bilingual function (DiDi En) was only established on the app two years ago.

Here are four things you need to know about the English-language function of the popular ride-hailing service and their dedication to serving expats in China.

How was DiDi En created?
Everything dates back to May 8, 2017 when the DiDi app added a bilingual function, allowing users in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to switch easily to an English interface. After DiDi En was officially born, it was quickly introduced to over 400 cities in China.

What does DiDi En offer?
The app offers a variety of mobility services. That means when you’re using DiDi En, you have access to their Express, Taxi, Premier and Luxe services. DiDi En also supports auto-translated instant-messaging between English and Chinese, making communication easier between drivers and riders who don’t speak Chinese. And paying for your ride has never been easier, as DiDi not only offers options like Alipay and Wechat Pay, but also supports payment by international credit cards.

What does DiDi En care the most about?
Whether you’re a DiDi driver or a rider, safety is the company’s utmost priority. In the ‘Safety Center,’ you can share your real-time status with your emergency contacts, and press the police assistance button in case of emergency.

Need assistance? You can always count on 24/7 bilingual customer service, reachable via email or the in-app online chat system.

Want to share your comments? DiDi En encourages you to give feedback on their Twitter, Facebook and official WeChat accounts.

More Fun DiDi En Features:
DiDi En has also rolled out many exciting interactive initiatives with its partners, including 'Mystery Name' in Chengdu, an innovative social media campaign; Shanghai Good Eats Week, recommending the best local cuisine and popular restaurants; and a video guiding you through Shanghai, an online campaign in collaboration with a local comedian group. All of these features are created not only to give you great deals, but loads of fun.

DiDi En wants to thank you for your support over the past 2 years! Your encouragement, suggestions and feedback helped the company grow. DiDi En looks forward to sharing more exciting developments with you in the near future!
