Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai ushered in a very 'Green Christmas' with their tree lighting ceremony on December 3. This year's theme puts the spotlight on sustainability as the Jumeirah cooperated with the renowned florist, Sebastien Lathuile for beautifully interesting decorations created by repurposing unused hotel recyclables.
This project was a team affair as the staff worked together to make wreaths, ornaments and streamers from packing materials, toilet paper rolls and worn-out linens. Leftover onion skin, turmeric powder and coffee grains were imaginatively turned into natural dyes for an elegantly French combination of colors.
You are invited to experience this enchanting winter wonderland for yourself at their upcoming Christmas Dinner Buffet on December 24. The vast spread of festive foods is sure to wow you.
Choose from international delicacies starting with an impressive Christmas Carving Station featuring roasted turkey, ham, bone-in beef ribeye and all the fixings. Side dishes include tiny roasted sweet potatoes with warm marshmallow, Brussels sprouts with bacon, roast vegetables and more.
You won't want to miss Asian specialties such as Bah Kut Teh (the complex pork broth is perfect for cold weather), spicy fish head or mutton masala.
It wouldn't be a buffet without seafood, and they have a great spread of crab legs, prawns, sushi, sashimi, clams and scallops. They even deliver half a buttery lobster to your table.
Finish up with something off the gorgeous display of desserts. We have our eye on the chocolate yule logs. If dessert isn't your thing, there is also a lovely selection of cheese and fruit to close out the feast.
