From July 1-31, four InterContinental hotels in Shanghai including InterContinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC, InterContinental Shanghai Jing’An, InterContinental Shanghai Expo and InterContinental Shanghai Pudong launched a nautical-themed buffet in collaboration with Star Cruises to celebrate the return of ‘Golden Sea Itinerary’ in Shanghai this summer holiday season.

On July, 4 InterContinental hotels’ all-day dining restaurants were transformed into an ‘ocean cruise’ on land with blue and nautical decor. Guests were warmly welcomed to enjoy a stylish feast, all presented by the InterContinental Insider Chefs. The nautical-themed brunch and dinner buffet featured various imported seafood and mouthwatering themed desserts, aiming to provide guests with a unique dining experience and quality family time.

From July 29 until September 8, award winning Star Cruises' ‘Golden Sea Itinerary’ will return to Shanghai for departure. Guests can go onboard Star Cruises’ flagship cruise Superstar Virgo to enjoy a week of joyful voyage in Osaka, Toyko, Mount Fuji and Kagoshima. Plus, this summer, Star Cruises will also collaborate with famous Japanese cartoon character Doraemon to create an extraordinary family experience for all cruise lovers. Guests who enjoy the nautical-themed buffet can also admire Doraemon pop-up installations, which will be displayed in each hotel for any dining guests to take a photograph with. In addition, guests can participate in exciting activities like the model ship assembly challenge and cartoon paintings, accompanied with stimulating lucky draw gifts including a complimentary ‘Golden Sea Itinerary’ trip with Star Cruises, giving the opportunity to sail from Shanghai to Japan.

“InterContinental Hotels and Resorts always try to deliver a perfect living experience for guests to enjoy by means of delicate dishes as one of the important ways.” Lin Wang, Vice President of Brand and Marketing, Greater China said. “This cooperation with Star Cruises aims to offer guests an opportunity to experience a culinary adventure with a nautical theme, as well as introducing cruising as a holiday-vacation option. In the meantime, we’d like to take this chance to have guests further understand the Insider Chef program and how to live an InterContinental life.”

Insider Chef is an important brand promotion program by InterContinental Hotels & Resorts that offers unforgettable food experiences to its customers. Guests can start enjoying courses developed by Insider Chefs in 40 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in Greater China. This time, each hotel’s nautical-themed buffet menu was specially designed by its Insider Chef, showcasing a wide range of fresh seafood, delicate themed desserts and specialties of its own, which allowed guests to enjoy a wonderful culinary voyage.
