Well this is awesome news, Shanghai is getting its first dedicated hot sauce tasting bar in Jing'an and it's opening this very Saturday.
Named The Hot Box (Lol) the shop will feature an all-encompassing selection of sauces, including house sauces made with chilies grown on site, imported brands and a full selection of Chinese sauces too.
Among the hottest sauces on offer include Mad Dog 357, The Hottest Sauce in The Universe, and a bad ass ghost pepper sauce made by some expat dude in Guangdong.
Word is they're also trying to figure a way to get Dave's Insanity Sauce through the Chinese customs, for the truly suicidal spice connoisseur. To add a little perspective, this is a sauce that carries a rating of 180,000 Scoville units, compared to Tabasco's 2,500-5,000. Your funeral buddy.
To cleanse the palate, they'll be carrying a small selection of bottled craft beers and different nacho platters to test the various hot sauces on. Just make sure you wash your damn hands after eating – you know why fellas!
Catch the grand opening party from 1pm onwards, Saturday November 12.
