A Rat Fell On This Guy's Table in Wagas Yesterday

A diner named Li had an unfortunate experience while eating lunch in a Wagas restaurant near People's Square yesterday (May 29) in Central Plaza, when an enormous live rat fell from the ceiling and "onto the neck of his colleague."

Smartphone at the ready, Li managed to shoot a 29-second video of said rat chilling on the table amongst the half-eaten salads, presumably recovering from its abrupt ceiling descent.

Less than amused, Li reports that he waited nearly two hours for the store manager to arrive since it was a "non-working day," and three hours for the area manager to come and rectify the situation.

Meanwhile, another poor Wagas fuwuyuan attempted to corner the furry critter after it scuttled from the table and onto a nearby banquette, which Li was also careful to document for posterity.

In a Weibo post on the matter, Li, who has changed his handle on the site to "Mr. Li Doesn't Like to Eat Mice," decries the "serious bad hygiene in F&B companies." You don't say.

Wagas Rat Shanghai

Nobody wants to see a rat on their table, but better a rat fall from the ceiling than scuttling from the kitchen, no?
