Mango Tree Worldwide has partnered with Double Tree by Hilton Shanghai-Pudong as it introduces its "pop up" concept to China in a bid to introduce its LIFE.STYLE.TASTE brand of stylish and authentic Thai culinary experiences to the country.

Hot on the heals of Mango Tree's successful pop up restaurant in Milan which launched the second phase of their European expansion plans, the company has teamed up with the global hospitality brand in a three-week long venture launching on April 20 until May 13.

The opening of 'Discover Exotic Thailand with Mango Tree' event, was presided over by theConsul – General, Royal Thai Consulate - General, Shanghai, Parichat Luepaiboolphan, Mango Tree Worldwide CEO and Founder Pitaya Phanphensophon and Double Tree by Hilton Shanghai-Pudong General Manager and Vice President, Operations of Interstate China Michael Thomas. Key sponsors were Singha Beer and AirAsia X in Shanghai.

"We are honored to partner with DoubleTree by Hilton Shanghai-Pudong and present contemporary Thai culinary experiences to their guests," said Mango Tree Worldwide Managing Director Trevor MacKenzie.

"These offer the genuine flavours and character combined with top quality ingredients and a contemporary atmosphere.

"Thai food has been fully embraced by Chinese diners. Up to 10 million Chinese arrivals are expected in Thailand this year, with food a major driver of travel, and we aim to provide a stylish and consistently high quality culinary and lifestyle experience in our restaurants.

"We launched a Mango Tree pop-up restaurant in Milan late last year and this really resulted in opportunities to sign restaurant deals this year in Milan, Barcelona and Copenhagen. This is an exciting and interactive format to present our brand and restaurants into China and it has been well received."

Mango Tree Worldwide CEO and Founder Pitaya Phanphensophon gave a cooking demonstration at the event highlighting the dishes that will be presented throughout the three weeks.

These include the signature Phad Thai lobster tail that Mango Tree has become famous for innovating  around the World and authentic Thai dishes such as XO Khao Klook Kapi (stirfried rice with XO shrimp paste and condiments), Poo Phad Phong Ka-Ree (Thai curry crab), Larb Moo (northeastern style minced pork salad) and classics like green Curry beef cheek.

Diners are invited to enter a draw to win the grand prize of an exclusive trip to Thailand which include hotel accommodation at Hilton Worldwide's hotels in Hua Hin and Bangkok, round trip airfare sponsored by AirAsia X, which offers direct daily flights from Shanghai to Bangkok, private cooking workshop with Chef Pitaya and exclusive dinner at Mango Tree On.

The River, and a VIP tour at Singha Park by Singha Beer with domestic flights provided by Bangkok Airways.

The first Mango Tree in China just opened in Qingdao in 2015 and will be followed by a second location in Guangzhou in 3Q 2016, with a third to be announced shortly.

Mango Tree Worldwide currently operates franchised restaurants in many of the world's leading cities such as London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Washington DC, as well as its home base of Bangkok.
