Oh the times, they are a changin' for Guangzhou’s food and beverage scene. So far this month, we have received confirmation that Tristan’s CalMex and Bar will reopen, seen the removal of patios along Xingsheng Lu and now we prepare for the imminent closure of The Butcher Shop.
One of the city’s most renowned locations to score high-quality meat, The Butcher Shop in Zhujiang will close its doors permanently at the end of the year.
Staff were tight-lipped when asked the exact date of the shop’s closure, but were happy to inform us it’s currently business as usual and that Christmas turkeys can still be ordered through the establishment (before December 20).
Rumors have been circulating that The Butcher’s Shop will still exist in some form online – possibly delivering products in the same manner as web-based shops like Nogogo.
