Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. As always there are tons of special meals, enormous buffets and super fancy dinners being served around Beijing for the special day (Feb 14). But for those of you who aren’t interested in doing the whole romantic dinner thing, there are also plenty of food-and-drink deals, shows and parties going on around town too.

Valentine’s Dinners @ NUO

NUO is hosting a few Valentine's feasts, all complete with excellent food and wine. Choose from a variety of cuisines, including expertly prepared Cantonese dim sum, Middle Eastern fare, fresh sashimi and delectible desserts.

Migas

You can always depend on Migas to put together creative (and delicious) menus for basically any occasion. For this Valentine's Day they're serving up a killer set menu featuring things like roasted scallops with artichokes and cauliflower puree, chilled pine nut cream soup with marinated pigeon, ham croquettes with mint alioli, and much more. blue frog

Romance is in the air this month, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend a boatload on a 10-course dinner. At blue frog, spend just RMB388 at your table and get two glasses of pink sparkling wine or a one-day-only Valentine’s cake – made with white chocolate cream and fresh strawberries. To sweeten the deal, blue frog is also offering reward points and bonuses for customers dining on Feb 14. It’s truly the day of love at blue frog.

JW Marriott Hotel Beijing Central

JW Marriott is serving a range of special dinners on February 14, including a sumptuous buffet dinner at JW Kitchen, a romantic Italian dinner at Casalingo and a Chinese set menu paired with selected sparkling wine at Man Ho. And to top it off homemade chocolate and roses will be prepared as takeaway gifts.

The Cut @ Fairmont Beijing

Fairmont is going all out for the day. Expect candlelit tables and supurbly prepared dishes ranging from fresh imported oysters and sashimi, creamy foie gras terrine, wagyu beef AACO 5+ fillet mignon with melting beef short ribs, butter poached fresh Boston lobster and much more.

Casa Talia

Casa Talia has a couple of set menus for RMB888 (including their Valentine’s Day Tomahawk Steak Menu). Selections include dishes from Wild Mushroom Salad to Smoked Salmon with Truffle Honey & Caviar Bruschetta to Pan-fried Foie Gras with Fruit Jam & Blueberry Sauce to Seafood Paella. There will also be a range of wines and desserts to choose from.

Aria (China World Hotel)

Celebrate the big day at Aria with a romantic feast for two. The set menu includes their signature oysters, slow roasted Angus sirloin, wild sea-bass and velvet mango passion fruit tart.

Annie’s 

Annie’s has prepared a special, good-value menu for lovers (or friends) this Valentine’s Day. The five-course set menu starts with a delicate bisque starring saffron and chives, then features risotto, lamb chops and sea bass. You’ll finish off the night with a delightfully creamy orange pannacotta topped with caramelized pumpkin seeds. And all for under 400 kuai

George’s Bar & Restaurant

George's is setting the mood with art by Zou Liang and divine Spanish tapas. The set menu includes raw botan prawn salad, pan seared sea scallop tartar, char-grilled Australian Angus beef and strawberry and mascarpone cheesecake .

Arrow Factory (Liangma River)

If you’re not into all the pomp and circumstance surrounding Valentine’s Day, then head over to Arrow Factory for a more chilled out evening. Bring a date… or not. It’s all good. Head over to their Liangma River location on Feb 14 and get your first pint for free when you order a full meal.

The Ritz-Carlton

The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street is offering several fine dining choices in its hotel’s restaurants. Cépe is serving a 5-course menu featuring selected ingredients such as Parsley Risotto, Caviar and Black Label Angus Beef (RMB1888+ per couple; add RMB788+ per person for wine paring). Greenfish's menu boasts Maine Lobster Ballotine, Duck Rillete Ravioli, Wagyu Beef and more (RMB1088+ per couple). And Qi Chinese Restaurant has a special menu for the occasion (RMB1314 per couple; add RMB488 for wine pairing).

The Grill @ Aman Summer Palace

If you want to go all out – and we mean all out – The Grill has got you covered. With their ultra-romantic setting and 6-course Valentines set dinner this is the perfect place to seriously show your girl or guy that you love them. The set meal inlcludes Gilladeaux Oyster Gratin, Prosecco Sorbet with Blueberries and Mint, Black Codfish with Hokkaido Scallop and Grill Australian M7 Wagyu Beef Filet Mignon and a selection of desserts.

One East (Hilton Beijing)

One East is preparing a special 5-course dinner for the occasion. Mains include pan-fried cod and roasted waygu beef tenderloin, and they come with all the fixings.

Q Mex

Q Mex has dreamed up a his and hers 3-course dinner for two... seafood for the ladies and steak for the gentlemen. The menu also features dishes like Mexican Tomatillo Chicken Soup. And to top it off, they're serving a chocolate and coconut bread pudding.

Daccapo Italian Restaurant

Daccapo Italian Restaurant will serve a 5-course dinner. Diners will start with a seafood amuse bouche, followed by saffron pasta, baked salmon fillet, Australian beef fillet with goose liver and a decadent dark chocolate dessert.

Latina

As always, you can expect Latina to throw a fun (and delicious) Valentine's Day shindig. In addition to a Brazilian BBQ and seafood buffet, there will be a live band, chocolates and wine.

Eudora Station

The St. Regis Tianjin has a special Valentine’s Day promotion, Riviera Sous Chef Johnny Wang has put together a special menu featuring mains such as Alaska King Crab (paired with Sauvignon Blanc) or Australian Beef Wellington. Expect a decadant array of desserts too.

Kranzler’s

Kerry’s Kitchen

Kerry’s Kitchen will have a special Valentine’s Day dinner buffet on the big day. Guests can enjoy a romantic meal, complete with music by the Savor Latino Band. And if you want to go all out for your valentine, you can get the “Couple’s Paradise” package, which includes a limousine pick up, a bouquet of roses, a couple’s massage, a one-night stay in a suite and a bottle of Champagne.

Head over to Atmosphere for a whole slew of Valentine's Day specials. They're serving up RMB125 glasses of bubbly, a 4-course set menu (including Crab Salad & Sea Urchin, Triple Boiled Chicken & Red Cabbage Consommé, Steak & Foie Gras, Chocolate Orange Cake, two glasses of champagne or wine and a rose) for RMB1,314. For RMB1988 guests will also get a bottle of Perrier-Jouët Blason Rose Champagne, chocolate strawberries, adorable heart-shaped cookies and a rose. Talk about romantic.

Tube Station & Goose Island

Tube Station is pairing up with Goose Island and offering a special deal for one day and one day only. On Valentine's Day head over to Tube Station for their “Cheap Date” set menu. Basically you'll get any small pizza, one Goose IPA and one Goose Honkers Ale for RMB79 (the price is typically RMB140, so that's a pretty good deal!). The deal is limited so purchase it at Dazhongdianping.com/app while you can. Also on Valentine's day, take a photo with the Valentine Instagram poster in any Tube Station location and send it to their offcial WeChat account to win a Goose Island branded gift.

This Valentine’s Day, spoil your loved one with a special 6-course dinner at Feast (Food by EAST). They'll be serving up a platter of Foie Gras Terine, Grilled Asparagus & Truffle, Pear Thyme Chutney and Brioche Toast to start. Feb 6-14:  Single Ladies Party @ Blow+Bar

It's almost Valentine's Day, but that doesn't mean all you single ladies out there shouldn't pamper yourselves for the big day. Blow+Bar is offering their "Single Ladies" package for RMB198 (the usual price is RMB238), which will get you a killer blowout. And in the spirit of V-day, you can enjoy two glasses of wine and some chocolates. Nothing to do on Valentine’s Day? Well there’s no point wallowing in sorrow and loneliness, so get yourself down to School Bar for a special Rooster Valentines party (that makes sense, right?). Three other bands will play to help light up this often dark day in the calendar.
