If dark complicated thrillers are your thing, you’ll want to check out Swiss theater director Milo Rau’s take on the life of child killer Marc Dutroux. The play is novel in that the entire cast is made up of children. A brutal examination into how children – and adults – process emotion.

Jul 13 & 14: La Vie en Rose Wine Dinner
Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin knows there’s only one way to celebrate French National Day (or le 14 Juillet as it’s known in French) – that is, by knocking back a six-course meal of French gastronomy paired with French wines. Bon appétit!

Jul 15: La La Land
With a program spanning all the great film classics (‘My Heart Will Go On,’ ‘Theme from Schindler’s List,’ ‘The Heart Asks Pleasure First’), Giulia Mazzoni’s aptly-named La La Land is sure to please all. The little ones especially will love ‘Remember Me’ (Coco), which won the 2018 Oscar for Best Original Song.

Through Jul 15: World Cup Deals
The World Cup rages on – until July 15 that is. That leaves plenty of time to take advantage of your favorite bars’ and dining spots’ World Cup deals. Ciao Pizza, for example, is offering a BOGO deal on beer along with Italian snacks to munch on. If hotels are more your hang, Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin is offering your second Heineken beer on the house. Meanwhile, if you’re with a group, Gusto Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel Tianjin offers a RMB588 (+15 percent) deal for 4-6 people, which includes a 3-liter Budweiser beer and four portions of snacks. Jul 21: Chantal Largier Recital
Catch pianist Chantal Largier as she performs a range of classical, romantic and baroque tunes for one afternoon only. The artist grew up in Switzerland and Japan but has lived in China since 2014, where she taught piano classes at Zhaoqing University in Guangdong.
