Construction on the extensive rail line, which will link Beijing with the Xiongan New Area, will begin in March, China Daily reports.

The new line will begin at Liying Railway Station in Daxing District in Beijing, run to the capital’s fancy new airport and end at Xiongan Railway Station in Xiongxian County in Hebei.

The line will reportedly have three sections, which will run at varying speeds: Beijing West Railway Station to Liying Railway Station, Liying Railway Station to the new airport and the new airport to Xiongan.

The line that runs from Liying Railway Station to the airport will run at 250 km/h. The line connecting the airport to Xiongan will be capable of running at speeds of up to 350 km/h.

The Beijing-Xiongan line will have five stations, three of which will be new: Gu'an East Station, Bazhou North Station and Xiongan Station.

The Xiongan New Area will be located roughly 100 km from Beijing and will spread across Hebei's Xiongxian, Rongcheng and Anxin counties.

The new line will extend 93 km and cost roughly RMB33.38 billion (USD5.22 billion). The line is expected to be completed in early 2020.
