A new chapter in Sino-Thai golf cooperation was unveiled as Mission Hills China, the world’s largest golf and leisure resort group, and Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai, one of Northern Thailand’s premier golf destinations, announced a landmark partnership supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

The signing ceremony took place at Mission Hills Shenzhen, witnessed by representatives from Thailand’s Ministry of Sports and Tourism.

Zhu Dingyao, Vice Chairman of Mission Hills Group, and Akkraphong Jurangkool, Managing Director of Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai, jointly formalised the agreement.

The collaboration will allow members of both clubs to enjoy exclusive privileges, bespoke tournaments, and premium travel experiences across China and Thailand.

A representative from the Tourism Authority of Thailand highlighted Chiang Mai’s unique appeal: with temperatures 5–10°C cooler than Bangkok year-round, the city offers championship golf courses framed by mountains, thousand-year-old temples, and world-renowned hospitality.

The partnership blends Mission Hills’ legendary tournament expertise with Summit Green Valley’s cultural and natural setting, further advancing the ‘Amazing Thailand’ campaign.

Key highlights of the partnership include reciprocal booking benefits with special green fee discounts at both Mission Hills Shenzhen and Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai, co-branded member tournaments, and tailor-made golf journeys that integrate luxury resort stays with Chiang Mai’s heritage sites, night safari, and wellness experiences.

"Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai is one of the world’s top golf courses, and we are delighted to form this partnership," said Zhu.

"With the continuation of the visa-exemption policy between China and Thailand, this strategic alliance will promote cultural exchange and tourism."

"We also plan to explore more opportunities including player exchanges, cultural initiatives, and resource integration to create richer experiences for golf enthusiasts from both countries."

"Leveraging Mission Hills’ market influence, we expect visitor numbers from China to triple within two years."

The partnership marks a milestone in integrating golf with cross-border cultural tourism, underscoring the growing importance of sports diplomacy in connecting communities and elevating the golf experience in Asia.

As owner and operator of flagship resorts in the Greater Bay Area and Hainan Free Trade Port, Mission Hills Group is a leader in China’s cultural, tourism and sports industries.

Its resorts span more than 40 square kilometres, featuring 22 championship golf courses—the largest collection worldwide—plus luxury hotels, award-winning spas, mineral springs, international convention centres, elite sports academies, and entertainment complexes.
