St. Petersburg State Children's Ballet Theatre was founded in 1992, by artists of Mariinsky Theatre and the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. The theater has about 100 children, aged 9 to 17 years, specializing in classic ballets like The Nutcracker, Sleepingn Beauty and Swan Lake. The young dancers present Tchaikovsky's tragic romance with grace beyond their years.
