Cai Zhen is a Shanghainese-born award-winning watercolor artist. Passionate about art and painting since childhood, she began painting heritage architecture in retirement. Growing up in an old Shanghainese house, it was only natural that the city’s historic buildings, villas and lane neighborhoods became her subject.

Painting in the realist style, with characteristic vibrant colors and original perspectives, her love for these buildings brings out their innate charm and elegance. Ms. Cai has been widely exhibited and her paintings are found in the collections of art, architecture, and watercolor enthusiasts.
