Every second Sunday is Movie night at The Hop Project, with a twist. The week before, check The Hop Project WeChat group and vote for one of the four movie choices. The most popular choice is screened. 
This week we have carefully chosen the following four movies with a common theme or genre:  Music.
A musical film is a motion picture consisting of a plot integrating musical numbers. Although usually considered an American genre, musical films from Japan, Italy, France, Great Britain, and Germany have contributed to the development of the type. The first musical film was The Jazz Singer (1927),
Here are this weeks four choices: 
 

• Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury

• Ray is biographical film focusing on 30 years in the life of rhythm and blues musician Ray Charles with Jamie Foxx in the title role.

• The Doors is portrayal of 1960s and 70s rock band of the same name emphasizing the life and death of Jim Morrison, the lead singer.

• Walk the Line details Johnny Cash's early life, his romance with June Carter and his ascent to the country music scene.
