Launching on 18 May 2016 for a period of six months the European Fine Arts Pop Up store located in the lobby of the 686 rooms luxury hotel will host exclusive events dedicated to arts, craftsmanship and lifestyle featuring fine arts from France and Italy.

VBL, the gallery, design and archite cture-company, founded by Valerie Barrelet and Ben 卞昱洲, will present an authentic range of art pieces, including antique, vintage and contemporary paintings, furniture, vases, ceramics, silverware and carpets from Europe.

Alongside the Pop Up store, VBL and Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai will co-organize monthly events with key speakers, art collectors and celebrities about the arts, lifestyle trends and design fashion.

Look out for the dates of these events and secure your place at this well-orchestrated mingling of art, industry, design and elegance.

The artistic collaboration is yet another example of how the 'Paris of the East' is stirring interest in all Western design industries, from fashion to art, architecture to interior design, and that Shanghai is the place to be for all entrepreneurs and opportunists worldwide.

Shanghai Fashion Week has entered the radar of fashion's international scene. The industry is growing evermore curious about what Chinese designers are up to.

Design Shanghai demonstrated the strength and boom of the interior design sphere, as top Chinese and international brands unveiled new designs and launched hundreds of never-before-seen products at Design Shanghai 2016, Asia’s leading international design event, which opened its doors to 50,000 visitors.

The Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) sees international stars come knocking on the door of China's film industry. Recently, Nicolas Cage, Clive Owen and Bruce Willis have made films in China. At this year's SIFF, Shanghai will welcome Sir Ian McKellen and star Benedict Cumberbatch.

Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai is proud to be at the forefront of this new artistic growth within China, and looks forwards to opening the Lobby to renowned European artists.
