Ri He is an upscale sukiyaki restaurant situated deep in the Japanese expat enclave of Hongqiao district. The specialty here is sukiyaki, a type of hot pot with a shallow bowl and an intense, sweet and savory soy sauce base. Into the pot goes a seasonal selection of vegetables, soft tofu and exquisitely marbled, dinner plate-sized swathes of beefsteak, all of which is cooked for you by a charming, kimono-clad server.
In addition to the sukiyaki pot, Ri He offers premium seafoods like tuna sashimi, salmon roe, live sea urchin, handmade gyoza dumplings and more.
