The Guangzhou Municipal Government announced in a press conference on March 10 that one person in the city has been infected with COVID-19.

The infected person tested positive on March 9, in the Yuexiu district, after a positive case travelled from Yangjiang to Guangzhou from March 5-7.

The case, a 40-year-old female living on Yue Hua Road, has been transferred in a closed-loop to Guangzhou University Hospital for isolation and treatment, her current condition is stable.

Relevant departments of the city and district are tracing her activity and any close contacts over the last 14-day period,

The woman’s workplace and residence have all undergone nucleic acid sampling and routine disinfection has been carried out. 

Several transport links in the area have been closed.
