Tue, Feb 26: Trivia at Ginstar
Head over to Ginstar’s Zhujiang New Town location for their weekly pub quiz, which takes place every Tuesday from 8.30-10pm. The quiz covers a wide range of topics and subjects, from current events and pop culture to geography, literature and politics. (Photo, music and connection rounds also feature!).

Wed, Feb 27: Vadim Repin Violin Conerto

Hailing from Siberia, Russian violinist Vadim Repin, in concert with Guangdong Orchestra conductor Jing Huan, brings classical music lovers three celebrated pieces: ‘Siegfried’ by Richard Wagner, ‘Violin Concerto No. 1, in G minor’ by Max Bruch and ‘Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major’ by Sergei Prokofiev.

An incredibly talented and creative pop singer, Jurga is admired by people from all walks of life for her deep and melodious musical creations. The Lithuanian artist broke onto the scene in 2005 after releasing her debut solo album Aukso Pieva, which marked the start of her highly successful career. Come watch her perform this Thursday as she kicks off her China tour at JZ Club.

Thu, Feb 28: Video Game Orchestra

Founded by Japanese guitarist Shota Nakama, Video Game Orchestra (VGO) is a one-of-a-kind show that performs video game music with an orchestra, choir and rock band. VGO consists of brilliant musicians from over 20 countries and this multi-cultural background enriches the unique sound of the orchestra. Their concert promises to inspire both the young and old with tunes from popular games including Final Fantasy, Grandia and Kingdom Hearts, among others.

Fri, Mar 1: Guangzhou Long-Lions vs. Qingdao Eagles

The classics of Japanese animation legend Hayao Miyazaki come to life this month at the Xinghai Concert Hall in an audiovisual extravaganza. Performers from some of the country’s best conservatories will come together to deliver a sensational, family-friendly musical rendering of such pioneering anime legends as Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro and Valley in the Sky.
