Looking for an excuse to escape Guangzhou this week? Look no further than the Foshan Qiandeng Lake Music Festival happening at Nanhai Financial Park!
Last year, the musical showcase featured a number of big names, including celebrated Chinese rockers Tang Dynasty and the highly sought-after Secondhand Rose (our undisputed favorite Chinese rock group in the That’s Guangzhou office). The 2018 edition of the Foshan Qiandeng Lake Music Festival also promises to deliver a compelling slate of musicians for PRD-based music fans to enjoy.
On the evening of Friday, October 12, seven up-and-coming groups will perform in a battle of the bands-style competition. The following day, a number of well-known Chinese bands and musicians are scheduled to take the stage.
Among the artists confirmed for the Saturday set are Chengdu-based girl band The Hormones, who will rock the stage with their metal-dance-techno-pop music, and China’s post-punk trailblazer Rebuilding the Rights of Statues. Folk musician Ma Tiao, whose music is a flawless combination of rock and Chinese folk music, will also perform.
In addition to live music, the festival will also host a food fair, where 20 different vendors will offer an array of delicious edibles. There will also be a flea market for thrifty folks to browse!
