December 5: Sonido Sauve at 1920
The unplugged quartet Sonido Suave (soft sound in English) consists of an Ecuadorian vocalist, Dutch guitarist, Brazilian bassist and Chinese drummer. With different backgrounds and cultures, these brilliant musicians create a unique fusion of voice to jazz you up every Monday while you are dining at 1920.

December 6: Idea Exchange
Coming into being in 2013, Idea Exchange features guest speakers giving talks on a diversity of topics, after which a lively Q&A section follows to get everyone involved in discussion and debate. Topics like habits and hobbies, communication and negotiation skills, as well as magic have previously raised interest in a broader audience. This is a great occasion to meet liked-minded people. The topic on Tuesday evening is centered on stereotypes thinking, a topic we tackle very often.

This event will kicked off on December 2 and runs until December 9, with daily happy hour deals on Founders beer. December 9-10: Ribs Presents Molecular Cuisine
Ribs restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou will take Cantonese gourmet fans on a molecular gastronomy adventure led by visiting chef Dave Yu. A Hong Kong-based chef of three-starred Michelin restaurant Bo Innovation, Yu will present cutting-edge culinary techniques that blend modern science with century-old recipes. With an eight-course set menu of molecular Chinese cuisine, one can expect nothing but an extraordinary dining experience in an American-style restaurant with an open kitchen.

December 9: AustCham South China Christmas Party
To be held at DoubleTree by Hilton Guangzhou on December 9 – this Friday evening, AustCham South China’s Christmas party. Offering premium red and white wines, great beer by San Miguel and a lucky draw with return tickets from Guangzhou to Australia, this occasion is bound to be as fun as it will be intoxicating.

December 10: Terry Fox Run
Organized by Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Southern China Representative Office and Luhu Golf and Country Club, the Terry Fox Run - the largest single-day fundraising event for cancer research worldwide - will take place at the Guangzhou Luhu Golf Driving Range. This annual charity event aims to raise funds for local cancer research.

Over thousands of years and through constant cultural exchange, Korea and China have managed to favorably impact each other’s development. In this exhibition, audiences can enjoy a close look at both the distinct and shared traits of Korean and Chinese artwork. Korean artist Kim Jisoo uses ‘hanji,’ a traditional Korean paper, to express Korea’s traditional beauty in a very modern way, while Chinese artist Shi Peiyong utilizes Chinese silk to convey Chinese aesthetics in a creative manner.
