WATCH: China has an official internet censorship song, and it just got censored

So we've already established that Chinese internet censorship is only getting worse. With internet Czar Lu Wei stepping out into the world stage and arguing the Party's case, the country's censorship bureaucracy isn't just getting more and more brazen about their work. By the looks (and sounds) of it, they're getting downright self-congratulatory.

Not only does the Cyberspace Administration of China have it's own North Korean-style marching song and choir now, it's got some national-level creative talent behind it. The lyrics to the song were written by Wang Pingjiu, the man behind 2008 Beijing Olympics theme tunes "Beijing Welcomes You" and "Nation," and the melody was the work of Zhao Jialin, responsible for unleashing the Chopsticks Brothers' smash hit "Little Apple" on the world.

When this video of a New Years gala performance of "The Spirit of Cyberspace Administration" went viral today, however, it, well, got censored. Go figure. Luckily, we stashed away a copy for safekeeping and translated the lyrics. Feel free to sing along:

The sun and the moon keep faithful watch over the horizon

Where the sun rises in the East, they take on the mission

To bring forth each new day, embracing the clear and the bright

Moving our hearts like a column of pure, true light

Uniting the might of all living things together

Offering us the global village's most beautiful vistas

CYBER POWER

Where there is internet, there is hope and glory

CYBER POWER

From the distant cosmos to our beloved home

CYBER POWER

Tell the world that the Chinese Dream is raising Greater China

CYBER POWER

I represent our country to the world

In this world, all rivers run into the ocean

Bringing forth China's civilization

The sediment of five thousand years ignites innovation

Incorruptibility is the clearest ripple of a nation

We unite in the center of Heaven and Earth

To the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers, our faith flows forth

CYBER POWER

Where there is internet, there is hope and glory

CYBER POWER

From the distant cosmos to our beloved home

CYBER POWER

Tell the world that the Chinese Dream is raising Greater China

CYBER POWER

I represent our country to the world
