Reports coming out of Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province indicate that sexual frustration drove a local man surnamed Zhou beat his wife to death in the early hours of Thursday, February 5.

Zhou, 75, was a regular customer down the local pharmacy, where he regularly stocked up on Viagra and other yang-boosting tonics.

After killing his spouse with a teacup as she lay asleep, Zhou drank pesticides that he had bought earlier with the express intent of killing himself after he did the deed; however, he was saved in the knick of time by a village official who caught wind of the dark machinations.

When he was questioned by police, Zhou said that his wife was "incapable of satisfying his needs" and suspected her of having an affair. Instead of cutting the habit or getting a divorce, however, Zhou decided a murder-suicide was the only honorable way out.
