Pivotal Han Dynasty tomb identified in Sichuan Province

After months since its discovery, Da Pingzi ancient tomb group have been identified as one of the most important tomb groups in the Han Dynasty (206 BC -220 AD).

Experts from the Sichuan Institute of Archaeology, who conducted on-site surveys and reasoning said the remains of the Tukang wooden coffin and nearby relics represent the blend of middle plains culture with local Bashu culture. 

Archaeological investigations are on-going at the site that was discovered in Sichuan Province last December.
