The Board of Directors of the Air France-KLM Group has appointed Florence Parly as its new Chair, a decision made during the board meeting held earlier today on the recommendation of the Nomination and Governance Committee.
The appointment will officially take effect following the Annual Shareholders' Meeting scheduled for June 4, 2025, where shareholders will approve the financial statements for the 2024 fiscal year.
Florence Parly will succeed Anne-Marie Couderc, who has served as Chair of the Board since May 2018.
Parly joined the Board of Directors in December 2023, and her appointment marks a significant new chapter in the Group’s leadership, as she brings a rich background spanning government service and corporate leadership.
In a statement welcoming her successor, Anne-Marie Couderc said:
"I am very pleased with the Board's decision to appoint Florence Parly to succeed me as Chair of the Board."
"Her extensive experience of the business world and of political institutions, in senior positions in the transport sector and as a minister, are remarkable assets for the success of Air France-KLM."
Reflecting on her seven-year tenure, Couderc noted the resilience of the Group in overcoming significant challenges.
"Despite a financial situation that still needs to be consolidated, our Group has emerged stronger from the successive crises we had to overcome."
"I am confident about the future of Air France-KLM and I would particularly like to thank all our employees for the exceptional moments we have shared these past years."
Florence Parly is a seasoned leader in both public service and corporate governance.
She notably served as France’s Minister of the Armed Forces from 2017 to 2022, and previously held executive positions at SNCF and Air France, providing her with a strong foundation in transport, defense, and economic strategy.
Her return to Air France-KLM—this time as Chair of the Board—reinforces the Group’s commitment to combining strategic governance with operational excellence at a pivotal time for the aviation industry.
