A resident of Suzhou, Jiangsu province has been detained by local police after being accused of harassing a traffic cop for three months with insulting text messages.

The man, surnamed Liu, allegedly sent insulting text messages to traffic police officer Qin in retaliation for two traffic penalties he had received from the man last year, according to Modern Express.

Liu was caught running a red light twice, after which he was fined 400 yuan ($65) and received points on his driver's license. In China, there is a 12-point system to control traffic violations. Violating these will cost you points, and ignoring the red light gets you a three point deduction.

As the frequent text messages were disrupting his life, Qin reported Liu to the regular police. Liu was then detained, hopefully teaching him the valuable lesson of not messing with Chinese police.
