Think Shanghai has finally gotten over the 2010 World Expo? Think again.

The city is getting its very own World Expo Museum, set to open on May 1, ensuring that shapeless, Gumby-esque blue mascots will forever be shoved down our throats etched in our memories. Admission is free of charge.

Housed on the former Shanghai Expo site in Puxi near Lupu Bridge — hey, they finally figured out what to do with that space! — the 46,000-square-meter museum will explore the history of world expos since 1851, when the Great Exhibition was first held in Britain.

The museum is "the first of its kind," according to Shanghai Daily. We're just amazed that no one has ever thought to open a museum solely devoted to world expos. What's next, a museum on world expo museums?

The World Expo Museum boasts over 3,000 exhibits displayed in eight different exhibition halls from expos held between 2010 and 2015, including — you guessed it — the mother of all expos: the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. That expo was the largest and most expensive in the history of world fairs.

Relive the magic of the 2010 World Expo over and over again with archive photos, videos, models and multimedia installations. We hope there's a Haibo exhibit.
