Watch Out Shanghai, It's Termite Season

It's termite season and the bugs are coming back with a vengeance.

Arriving earlier this year than last due to warmer weather (thanks global warming), they've also been reported coming in larger droves than in years past.

Last week, Shanghai Xufang Greenery Co (they specialize in termite prevention), reported they received 100 orders in just two days - more than the total number for the entire month of March.

Termites tend to flock to old wooden houses or on the first floor where water pools, meaning lane house residents need to be extra aware. They're also more active between noon and 3pm according to exterminators.

To try and battle the pesky bugs, it's recommended to cover cracks in doors and walls and check wooden boxes closely.
