We all know someone who has forgotten their phone or book on a plane after a long flight, but what about forgetting your sleeping child? According to an online media report, this exact situation unfolded earlier this week in Guangzhou.

The parental blunder happened on a China Southern Airline’s flight from Chengdu, when cabin crew stumbled across a dozing 10-year-old girl still in the back of the plane after everyone had disembarked.

Luckily, the unattended youth knew her parents’ mobile number and they were immediately alerted to her whereabouts. The absent-minded couple reportedly claimed they were busy with luggage and thought their daughter was behind them.

According to one of the crew members on the flight, the couple had already left the airport aboard a shuttle bus. Oops!
