Here, a roundup of things we ate and gossiped about this month – for journalism, for research, for you, readers.
Let’s just cut to the chase here: There’s a Red Lobster in Beijing. Another glorious gift from the land of stars and stripes has debuted in the Chinese capital and we couldn’t be more thrilled. (In fact, we might be writing this with Cheddar Bay biscuits in hand right now. And yes, they are unlimited.) Stay tuned for our full review.

Not far from this seafood holy land, Moka Bros moved to the other side of Nali Patio and the new space is popping as usual – and pet-friendly! On the second floor, Mexican restaurant El Barrio just debuted a weekend brunch featuring authentic dishes like huevos rancheros and enmoladas drenched in a mole sauce, as well as a three-hour free-flow cocktail deal. (How many frozen margaritas can you physically drink in three hours, you ask? We’ll get back to you.)

Over in Gulou, Taco Stop at El Nido (at The Other Place – it’s like hutong inception out here) has brought back their homemade chorizo tacos.
Though if you don’t feel like bearing this treacherous sun, we don’t blame you – and Tease by CreatureS is actually encouraging you to stay indoors. The Asian soul food eatery is officially delivering around the city. Order their feel-good grub on Eleme or JSS, and soon Sherpa’s.
