LA-based Yung Bae brings his lauded funk beats (you know you’ve made it when hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar chooses you as his official remixer) to China off the back of his soldout US tour. Together with supporting DJs Joy Ginger, Tsunami, DJ Liia, the BAE kicks off his first-ever China tour at – where else? – Dada.

Thurs Apr 12, 10pm; RMB80; Dada, see event listing.

Apr 13: 'Sound of the Xity' Presents: Yuck

Sound of the Xity takes place this weekend at venues across the city. While all showcases promise a good time, Yuck's performance at Tango on Friday is one not to miss. From opening for Dinosaur Jr. and the Pixies to booking major festival gigs, the four-piece British band has been making waves since 2009. Think lo-fi 90's noise rock with fuzzy vocals and punchy guitar riffs.

Fri Apr 13, 8.30pm, RMB200; Tango, see event listing.

Apr 13: Alpine Decline

Beijing's beloved psych rockers Alpine Decline return to their old stomping grounds after a stint in Los Angeles, where the band originally formed. They're bringing their ambient shoegaze goodness to Yue Space on Friday. This show is the duo's last stop on their China tour so be there or hear about it later from all your friends. Your choice.

Fri Apr 13, 9.30pm; RMB80 (presale), RMB100 (door); Yue Space, see event listing.

Apr 14: The Hormones

The long-awaited return of Chengdu rockers The Hormones has finally come. The badass pop-punk group is back and badder than ever with their moody, electronic sound and frenzied vocals. Catch them at Yugong Yishan this Saturday night.

Sat Apr 14, 9pm; RMB80 (presale), RMB100 (door); Yugong Yishan, see event listing.

Apr 14: JUWON

World-renowned Korean guitarist Juwon Park is performing at DDC this Saturday. Inspired by musicians such as Paco de Lucia, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and George Benson, the composer's arrangements are a genre-bending cocktail of gypsy-jazz, borrowing notes from Spanish and classical music. He's even covered Luis Fonsi's 'Despacito' with vocalist JeA and it's our favorito

Sat Apr 14; RMB50; DDC, see event listing.
