The holiday season is now in full effect. We don’t know about you, but we’re pretty excited about all the holiday hullabaloo going on around Beijing lately. And it looks like hotels, restaurants and shops around the capital are getting into the spirit of things, too. 

Dec 16: Jing-A's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

It's the holiday season, which means it's time for Jing-A's annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. This year's bash will be held at the new Jing-A Brewpub Xingfucun. As always, don your favorite holiday sweater and drink the night away with all-night happy hour on beers and cocktails. Jing-A will also be releasing their seasonal Christmas brew -- Jing-A-Ling Celebration Ale. And to warm you up, hot mulled wine will be RMB50 a glass. In case you don't have a sweater, there will be a vintage holiday sweater pop-up market from 4-8pm.

Dec 16-17 & 23-24: Farm to Neighbors Christmas Market

As always, Farm to Neighbors’ Christmas Market will be held twice this month: Dec 16-17 and on Christmas weekend (Dec 23-24) – just in time for some very last-minute holiday shopping. Expect 50 great vendors as well as all the regular local producers you've come to know and love from the Farm to Neighbors farmers’ market. Not only can you shop till you drop but you can even make your own gifts at special workshops.

Dec 17: Christmas Barbecue at the Great Wall 

Beijing Experience is holding an exclusive BBQ at the foot of the Badaling Old Great Wall, just before Christmas. Visit an old section of the wall, enjoy live music and chow down on Casti Uruguayan beef, craft sausages, imported and local beers, mulled wine, and dessert by Hutong’er Pie. The venue is a private indoor room, though participants can also go hiking. Price includes transportation, meals and drinks and entrance to Badaling Old Great Wall. Book before Dec 14.

Dec 23: Kerry Hotel's Jungle Christmas Carnival

Kerry Hotel will be celebrating the fourth birthday of Jia Bao, the Adventure Zone's adorable panda, and they're inviting all sorts of cuddly animal friends and any Beijingers who want to partake in the festivities. There will be plenty of fun, food, games and prizes as well as a jungle filled with exotic animals and adventurous slides, rope bridges and more. The whole thing will be topped off with a Christmas feast and a special visit from Santa Claus.

Dec 23-24: CK Treasure Trove Last Minute Christmas Market

This Christmas Market is all about supporting Beijing's best small-business vendors and the Little Adoption Shop. There will be over 30 vendors and tons of festive food, drinks, gifts and activities for kids. If you're looking for some last-minute gifts, this is the place.

Dec 24: Holy Hot Fish Challenge

Christmas Eve is spicy this year at MoMo Café, where you can celebrate by challenging your taste buds with a spicy fish-eating contest. The first one to finish an entire half-kilo of tuna will be awarded the grand prize of the evening: a two-night stay in a Deluxe guest room, with breakfast for two, at the Courtyard by Marriott Beijing Northeast. Other dishes from the buffet are also available, as are activities for the little ones.

Dec 24: Christmas at FEAST  

Christmas isn’t complete without a feast. So this year, Feast will have the roast with the most at their Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day all-day buffet.
