Film: The Great Wall

Dec 16: The Great Wall

After months of anticipation, the largest Chinese-US film production will finally debut. Matt Damon controversially stars in this sci-fi epic about an alien invasion in ancient China. Acclaimed director Zhang Yimou (Hero) will certainly supply stunning visuals but will this story created by World War Z scribe Max Brooks strike a chord in China months before its North American release? The star is currently in Beijing on a charm offensive to help boost its chances. Opens nationwide on December 16.

Music: Chinese Football - Electric Girl

The Wuhan emo standouts are celebrating their upcoming tour of Japan with a new music video that’s also serving up as a primer for their upcoming EP, Here Comes A New Challenger! ‘Electric Girl’ is classic Chinese Football - clean melodic guitar driven emo dripping in sincerity. Stay tuned for news of the new release at Chinese Football’s Bandcamp.
