dART TekNest Electronic Music Festival Headed to Bird's Nest

We can all agree that it’s about time Beijing got another music festival. Well, the wait is finally over. The dART TekNest Electronic Music Festival is happening at Bird’s Nest Stadium from September 15-18.

With the help of 10Festival, Beijing is now the site of a new outdoor creative electronic music festival. This gathering is all about creating an environment where art, music and technology can come together. During the three-day fest, you can expect tons of great electronic music, multimedia art and creative performances.

There are some pretty big international acts invading Beijing from countries around the world, including Dubfire, Kenny Glasgow (Art Department), Nobody Home (aka Minilogue), Jacques, Nikita Zabelin, SHADED and so many more. Local artists include Ben Huang, Mickey Zhang and Weng Weng, to name a few. Visual artists Clockwork Q, Hanabitheo, Noizome and Qian Honglin will also be on the scene.

From global success in the commercial domain, to equal accomplishments within the underground scene, Dubfire is an artist whose drive, talent and intuition have placed him within the top tier of electronic music artists in the world.

One of the forwards on an unfolding map of Russia is Nikita Zabelin, a young producer and sound designer, who is one of the first artists of Nina Kraviz’s трип label.

A bicycle wheel, electric fan, or even a watering hose turn into beats that get you dancing. Coupled with the keyboard and guitar, Jacques’ sets are just as fun to watch as they are to listen.

Music aside, there will be loads other things to do. There will be an on-site bar with a whole range of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), as well as tons of food. Throughout the day, there will be a bunch of audio visual performances, including light dancing. A photo booth will be set up to fulfill all of your selfie needs. There will even be an entire area dedicated to virtual reality. It’ll be teeming with robots too.

The occasion also marks the one-year anniversary of dART. On the night of Friday September 16, dART will be hosting a super-secret one-year anniversary celebration (9pm-late). dART has designed some pretty killer swag. If you purchase a phone cover, pillow, or bag, along with your TekNest tickets, you’ll get a chance to come to the top-secret party.
